Members Rating Businesses:

One of the many unique features of iRacine.com is the Member Rating System. When the system is fully employed, every member of iRacine.com will have the opportunity to "rate" businesses they use in Racine County on a 5-star scale. Remember, membership to iRacine.com is FREE, so signup and help businesses get noticed for their great service, or allow them to rectify legitimate issues you may have with service they have provided you.

The system is simple. As a member you navigate your way to a business listed in our directory. Once you are there you have the option to "rate" the business on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Choosing 1 means you were not at all satisfied with the business. Choosing 5 means you are very satified with the business. Only members will be able to rate a business. You can choose to rate the business anonomously. However, if you do choose to rate a business anonomously, you will be required to give a detailed explaination as to why you rated the business the way you did, regardless of the score you provide. If you choose to rate a business with your member name listed, you are not required to leave commentary, but may choose to if you wish. In any case, commentary from members who rate anonomously or not must be detailed in their explanation of their rating...

What does detailed mean? Detailed means offer a little meat, a good reason to why you feel the way you do. For example; "I really enjoy the customer service. Even though they may be a bit pricier than other stores like them, I come here to shop because they treat me with respect and answer my questions without making me feel like an idiot." What is unacceptable commentary; "I love the place, it's great." Members must be descriptive. Informing other members a business is great adds absolutely NO VALUE. If we feel the commentary is not descriptive enough, we will ask the member to elaborate. If the member chooses not to do so, we will remove the score and commentary. This must be a value added directory and be based on your experience with the business. If you have not done business with the business, then do not rate it. If a member attempts to create multiple accounts to either bolster a business rating or detract from the rating, we will banish the member based on member names used, IP addresses, and MAC addresses. Please do not try and be sneaky. This is our line of business and you will get caught. Furthermore, It could cause a business it's reputation and forever remove you from participating in a growing, "feel good" Racine online community. Dont blow it!

The iRacine.com team will also be rating businesses because we live here too! However, we reserve the right to rate a business based on whether we have used their services OR based upon how a business owner interacts with us in regards to working with them on creating the directory. We are verifying every business in the directory and will come in contact with hundreds, if not thousands of business owners. If a business owner treats us with disrespect or conversely with sincere interest and respect, we will annotate it in their directory listing. We reserve this right because we feel it is important Racine consumers know what to expect BEFORE doing business and we owe it to our members to know who we know, who are our friends (just because they are our friends does not mean they are good business owners), and who treated us well or poorly while creating the directory.
