It is a website set up for the citizens of Racine County, Wisconsin. Although anyone is welcome to join; for example you might be from Racine and live elsewhere, or you have family and friends in Racine or you have business in Racine. The point is this website is a social networking platform for the people of Racine and also a comprehensive business directory for companies operating in or with companies in the Racine County area.
The website, itself, was created and is managed by Salient Properties, LLC., which operates in Racine, Wisconsin. Salient Properties is a real and “virtual” estate company, which owns rental properties in Racine and Kenosha counties. Additionally, they develop and manage websites for the hundreds of Internet domain names they own and operate. iRacine.com is one of those websites. Other domains which have roots in Salient Properties are; WiFi.com, Scams.net, Cessation.com, BuildsOut.com, and many other profitable Internet domains.

Membership to iRacine.com is FREE. However, if you have a business or wish to advertise on iRacine.com there are separate pages to give you direction on how to do this. The primary pages advertising rates page are available upon request. If a business wishes to advertise in our comprehensive Racine County directory, the details can be found on the home page.
Our directory is populated with businesses in Racine County. These businesses have Articles of Organization on record through the Wisconsin Department of Financial institutions. If you own or operate a business in Racine County without Articles of Organization or you have satellite offices in Racine County, you can still get placed into the iRacine.com business directory. However, these requests are handled manually and are verified with your business through a number of ways, not limited to; a phone call, a faxed signature, a visit to the place of business, or any other means iRacine.com feels is necessary to verify your business. Once your business is verified and entered into the directory, members are free to rate the quality of your business on our 5-star scale. Furthermore, there are some customization options available to businesses to enhance their business listing.
Well, we feel there are a number of ways iRacine.com will benefit you...
1) If you are a social networker (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), we not only offer our customized platform (based on the WordPress Content Management System) for you to connect with iRacine.com members, but we integrate the Facebook and Twitter APIs (no need to explain the technical stuff) so you can seamlessly connect with your iRacine.com, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. This means you login into iRacine.com and interact here and on your favorite social networking sites too!
2) This is a feel good website. Our goal is to provide news, articles, and editorials about Racine, which put our city and county into a positive light. Not everything that happens in Racine is bad. We can get the bad news from the Journal Times. This is not a knock on the JT, they are a news organization and it’s their job to report newsworthy things, good or bad. We are not just a news organization. However, we want to share stories about hard-working people in Racine and give people the opportunity to tell their positive, feel good, stories. We are always looking for people to volunteer their stories or write for us, so inquire within, by all means.
3) The events calendar. Can someone finally put all of this together? Please! Although it will not happen in version one of the website, our goal is to have an all inclusive, easy to read, easy to update, calendar for Racinites (and Racinians) so they have a one-stop place to find out what is going on in the county. If you currently run a website which provides information about events in Racine, please contact us. We will provide backlinks to those who supply the information in our calendar. We are not out for glory, we just want to make it a little easier to find things to do and currently the websites providing information for us are too fragmented.
4) Last but not least, our comprehensive business directory is a building block for all small, medium, and large businesses in Racine County. Not only will this benefit the citizens of Racine County, it will allow businesses to get seen without spending a bunch of money on marketing their business or hoping someone walks in off the street. Furthermore, members will “Rate” your business on the iRacine.com 5-star scale, based on factors, which affect their appeal or lack thereof in your business – this will be heavily monitored and secured. Spamming by businesses or members will result in banishment from the directory and members MUST provide detailed commentary to offer a high or low rating. Business owners have the opportunity to correct or positively respond to any or all ratings given to them by a member. Additionally, our hope is to build relationships with local businesses and create a coupon or discount program for members of iRacine.com (Version 2 or 3). Ultimately we wish to have an extensive B2B directory as well. Right now our plan is to tag a business B2B, but if Racine County is to grow exponentially, we need to operate and do business with companies outside of Racine county too.
Please contact us by using the contact form. Although any issues on the site may or may not be caused by a problem on our end, if you don’t know what to do or cannot isolate the issue, don’t hesitate to contact us first and we will do our best to resolve the problem or point you in the right direction. Compliments and suggestions are always welcome. We try to contact people within 24-48 hours. If we do not contact you within the timeframe offered, please call us at (262) 235-0035. If we don’t pick up, leave a message and wait another 24-48 hours. Let’s see if anyone catches the humor here. If we do not respond after that, good luck. Seriously though, depending on how busy we are or the volume of people attempting to get a hold of us, it may take a few days to respond. Please don’t keep trying to contact us as we place new people who are already in line, to the back of our line.
We shall give you a complex answer for a not so complex question. We could use the help right now. However, the two people who currently run iRacine.com are perfectionists who want to get version one up and running before looking for help. And, we need this part of the business to be profitable (cash flow positive) before filling in our gaps. If and when we do hire people, we will be looking for all sorts of skill sets. The main criteria, however, is the person MUST live and work in Racine County. Skill sets high on our list are; salespeople, advertising experts, marketers, search engine optimizers, online directory management, programmers (mostly PHP and CSS) and database programmers and managers (mySQL, etc.). We may also be looking for C-suite level employees. If you are unfamiliar with C-suite level employment, we recommend not looking to see if you are qualified. There are other jobs we could be hiring for, but again the candidate must live and work in Racine County. NO EXCEPTIONS. We will post jobs in our classified sections or right on the main page of the website.
